OVULA - Short for Ovulation

For this conceptual project, I developed the complete brand identity for OVULA, a fictional menstrual wellness company centered on supporting women’s moods through every phase of the menstrual cycle. I crafted the brand name to feel both approachable and scientific, striking a balance between wellness and empowerment. The visual identity included a clean, modern logo paired with a soothing color palette to reflect calmness and balance. I designed packaging that communicates clarity and trust, with phase-based cues to highlight the product’s cycle-specific approach. To extend the brand digitally, I created social media content and ad campaigns that educate and engage the audience, focusing on cycle literacy, mood balance, and self-care. The overall branding presents OVULA as a forward-thinking wellness companion — blending science, design, and empathy to transform the menstrual experience.

Conecpt Breakdown

OVULA offers a research-backed, phase-specific approach to menstrual wellness. Each pill is meticulously formulated to support the unique emotional and physical states experienced during different phases of the menstrual cycle. The color-coded system not only aids in identifying the current phase but also educates users about the natural hormonal fluctuations influencing their moods.

  • Red (Menstrual Phase: Days 1–7): Characterized by hormonal fluctuations leading to feelings of sadness, irritability, and fatigue. OVULA's Red pill is designed to provide emotional support during this phase.

  • Blue (Follicular Phase: Days 8–14): As estrogen levels rise, individuals often experience increased energy, optimism, and motivation. The Blue pill aligns with this phase to enhance mood and vitality.

  • Green (Ovulation: Day 14): Peak estrogen levels can lead to heightened confidence and sociability. The Green pill supports these positive emotions during ovulation.

  • Dark Blue (Luteal Phase: Days 15–28): Progesterone increases, which can cause mood swings, irritability, and fatigue. The Dark Blue pill is formulated to stabilize mood and alleviate these symptoms.

Each color-coded pill serves as both a mood regulator and an educational tool, helping users recognize and understand the emotional shifts associated with their menstrual cycle.

Role:  Reasearch and Data

Digital | Social Media, Email, Out of House Graphics.

For OVULA, I created a full suite of digital content, including email campaigns, social media posts, and in-house graphics. Each piece was designed to reflect the brand’s visual identity, using the color-coded cycle phases and branded illustrations to communicate mood support and cycle awareness. The content educates and engages the audience, highlighting the benefits of phase-specific wellness while maintaining a cohesive, modern aesthetic. From Instagram posts that visually explain each cycle phase to email summaries that guide users through their monthly wellness routine, every asset reinforces OVULA’s mission to empower women through knowledge, design, and mood-focused care.

Packaging

For the packaging design, I incorporated the branded illustrations I developed for OVULA along with circular elements representing each phase of the menstrual cycle. The colors of the circles correspond to the moods commonly experienced during these phases. To add depth and visual interest, I layered the illustrations for texture, stacked the circles to signify the progression of the cycle, and included numbers for easy reference.

The packaging contains all the pills needed for a full menstrual cycle. While the package is color-coded to match each phase, the pills themselves remain white for a clean, minimalist look.
